Zeito is a black and red themed derivative of the official Vocaloid Kaito and is created by BloodyVocaloid. His name is a combination of "Kaito" and "Ze". His name is a pun on the word "zetto", which is the Japanese word for the letter "Z". Due to his black and red color scheme, it is often said he is the Kaito equivalent of what Zatsune Miku is to Hatsune Miku.
Design[]
Zeito's black hair covers the right side of his face. He is depicted with pale skin, red eyes, and black nails. He is sometimes shown with dark eye bags or with thick black makeup around his eyes. He wears a modified version of Kaito's outfit which comprises of a ripped black coat with dark red trim and a tattered darker red scarf.
Personality[]
Zeito rarely speaks or shows emotions. He is said to hate his own voice due to its high pitch and rarely sings because of this fact. Because of his dark color scheme and makeup, he has frequently been mistaken as evil or as a yandere. However, in contrast, Zeito is usually depicted as calm and peaceful. He is classified as a tsundere, but shows many characteristics of a kuudere. His interests are often depicted to revolve around nature, yo-yos and spending time alone.
History[]
Zeito was first created on July 30, 2009 in BloodyVocaloid's "Zatsune Hare Hare Yukai" video. He appeared as a recolored Animasa Kaito model with his hair manipulated over his face.
Zeito was first introduced to Nico Nico Douga on February 3rd, 2011, when the Nico user, 桐林 (Paulownia), included Zeito in their video "Kaito derivatives talk in the house of Paulownia". In this video, Zeito is depicted as quiet and suicidal. Possible due to Zeito's suicidal depiction contrasted with Taito Shion's homicidal depiction, the two are often portrayed as close in Eastern fan art.
On April 26, 2013, Zeito received a redesign and was show cased in BloodyVocaloid's "Eden" video. Zeito's outfit was shown to be greatly tattered, and Zeito's dark eye makeup was much more prominent than in previous depictions. Zeito's new design had mixed reviews.
